After reply to his question by Minister Incharge Sports and Youth Services Imran Raza Ansari in the Assembly during Question Hour, the MLA said the indoor stadium had initially been meant for Udhampur but was taken to Ramnagar constituency.
Ansari said after Jammu and Srinagar, the Government has spent maximum funds on generating sports infrastructure in Udhampur. BJP MLA from Ramnagar, RS Pathania said his constituency was also awaiting outdoor stadium after indoor.
Not satisfied with the Minister’s reply, Gupta protested in Well of the House for some time and then staged a walk-out. He alleged neglect of his constituency deliberately.
Meanwhile, as the Assembly began its proceedings for the day, Congress MLA from Bandipora, Usmaan Majid said the Congress workers, who were yesterday peacefully protesting in Srinagar against power shortage, were lathicharged and lodged in lock-up.
“The Government should take action against the police officer responsible for the lathicharge,” Usmaan said.
He was also supported by other Congress MLAs.
