UDHAMPUR, Sept 14: Minister of State for Finance and Information Technology Pawan Kumar Gupta today took stock of developmental works being executed by Local Bodies and Public Works Departments in Udhampur.
During the meeting, the Minister exhorted upon the functionaries of both the departments to ensure time bound execution of the developmental works. He instructed the Executive Engineer PWD to prepare an integrated master plan of Udhampur town within a fortnight.
Expressing displeasure over poor sanitation in the town, the Minister directed Director Local Bodies Jammu Soujanya Sharma to arrange an additional tipper, two autos, mopping machine, fogging machine and additional staff viz. a sanitary inspector and a khilafwarzi inspector to streamline functioning of Municipal Council Udhampur. He was also instructed to release an amount of Rs 3 lakh for execution of repair works of lanes and drains.
While providing details of the progress works being carried out by the department, Sharma informed the Minister that the solid waste management plant will be made functional within a period of two months.
