Gupta for clearance of landslides on war footing

JAMMU, Mar 15: Member Legislative Council (MLC) Naresh Gupta impressed upon the executing agencies in district Doda to press into service all men and machinery to clear the landslides on Bhaderwah-Doda-Batote-Kishtwar road and internal link roads.
While talking to OC 114, Naresh impressed upon him to remove the slides at Malnai sector on war footing so that Doda-Bhaderwah road should be made trafficable.
He also asked DDC Doda to visit Bhaderwah, Gandoh and Thathri to assess the losses caused due to heavy rains, snow and address the issue of the public. He also asked DDC to release some amount to the X-En’s for fuel and allied items urgently so that machineries should be brought to clear the roads.
Naresh directed the PWD authorities to put all possible efforts for the restoration of internal roads.
Gupta while taking to Chief Engineer, PDD expressed anguish over the deteriorating condition of PDD in Chenab Valley where dozens of transformers have been burnt due to faulty transmission system. There is need to get the same repaired or replaced on top priority so that power supply should be restored in area, he said, adding that minimum power cuts should be allowed in view of cold weather conditions in the region.
Gupta appealed to Ministers for PWD, RDD, CAPD and MoS Mohammad Ashraf to redress the problems being faced by the inhabitants of Chenab region on priority basis.
