Srinagar, Apr 19: In yet another incident of its kind, gunmen today barged into a bank in South Kashmir’s Shopian district and looted over Rs 11 lakh cash.
Sources said that a group of four gunmen, who are suspected to be militants, appeared outside a Jammu and Kashmir Bank in Harmain area of Shopian this morning at 11.45 a m in a Santro Car. The three gunmen then barged into the bank while fourth one stood outside.
Sources said that the three gunmen looted Rs 11, 44, 060 and fled from the scene. Meanwhile, police have recovered the Santro Car which was boarded by the gunmen to reach to the bank. The driver of the Santro, meanwhile, has told police that the gunmen forced their way into his car and he couldn’t object due to fear for his life.
