SRINAGAR: “An army’s elite para-commando was critically injured in a gun fight that raged in North Kashmir’s Lolab area near the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan”, a senior army officer said here.
The army officer said: “We received information about the presence of 3 militants in a forest village Kawadi in Lolab. An operation was launched and militants fired on our troops in which an army commando was critically injured.”
More troops were rushed to the area to take on militants and the operation has been extended to the nearby forest area.
The gun fight raged a day after an army man was killed on the LoC in Uri area of North Kashmir and 5 militants were killed in Keran sector of North Kashmir along the LoC with Pakistan.
