Gulshan Grover’s ‘Badman’ screened at Moscow and Birmingham film festivals

NEW DELHI:  In yet another feather in the cap for Bollywood ‘Badman’ Gulshan Grover, his film ‘Badman’ was recently screened  at the prestigious Moscow and Barmingham film festivals.

The Indian Panorama section at the  39th Moscow international film festival opened with the screening of Bad Man, India’s first mockumentary feature film starring Gulshan Grover with Rishi Kapoor and Mahesh Bhatt in guest appearance.

Talking about the unique concept of the film, Gulshan Grover said, “It is part of the progressive new cinema, everyone plays themselves and at the same time its interestingly created fictional scenes take the story forward. I’m sure the Russian audience will enjoy seeing the Indian shooting studios and settings, since the movie is set primarily in the heart of Bollywood. It is crazy and quirky.”

The 39th Moscow International Film Festival is showcasing a specific section dedicated to the Indian cinema. The Indian Panorama, that has been jointly curated by Captain Rahul Bali and RC Dalal and organised by the Indian Film Festival Worldwide, will showcase six movies in six different languages.

Besides ‘Badman’, other films screened at the film festival include ‘A Death in Gunj’, ‘Kothanodi’ and Baahubali: The Beginning.  The film was also screened at the Barmingham film festival.

Directed by Soumik Sen (Gulaab Gang), ‘Badman’ showcases Gulshan Grover in a fabulous “mokumentary” look at a Bollywood legendary villain trying to stay relevant by becoming a “Goodman” in a new film.  The actor plays “himself” in a story that is literally laugh out loud funny, fun, touching and full of crazy reel and real characters. Not only does the film feature Gulshan Grover, it also has Farah Khan as “Farah Khan”, Chunky Pandey as “Chunky Pandey” and amazing special appearance scenes with Rishi Kapoor, Mahesh Bhatt, Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Shootjit Sarkar, Sujoy Ghosh and many more!  (AGENCIES)
