Gul expresses concern over drug abuse, increasing road accidents

SAMBA, Sept 7: Chairman JKRDS, Mubarak Gul here today shared five fundamental points of JKRDS which include total eradication of menace of drug abuse among youth of J&K, stoppage of suicidal syndromes among the youth due to frustrations because of certain economic and other related issues including domestic violence, terrible roads accidents in rocky areas of J&K and environmental hazards.
Earlier Gul was welcomed by the JKRDS wing of districts Jammu, Samba and Udhampur.
He claimed that the present time is crucial where the youths are suffering a lot and are falling prey to drug addiction, which is an act of crime for them.
“We all together are tougher than this menace,” Gul said demanding drug de-addiction centres at district, sub-district and village level to save the youngsters from the menace.
He expressed concern over increasing road accidents and called it a serious issue.
“Deaths and injuries in road accidents are preventable,” Chairman JKRDS maintained referring to the recent accident of Kishtwar in which eight people were killed.
He termed the increase in suicidal syndromes as a matter of grave concern.
“One should be brave enough by his body, mind and soul to overcome suicidal syndrome,” Gul said.
He along with JKRDS workers joined a cleanliness drive and cut the wild growth in the adjoining areas of Sidhra, Jammu.
