Gujjar-Bakerwals body criticizes Sharma Commission report

JAMMU, Oct 28: The Jammu & Kashmir, Gujjar Bakerwal Organisations Coordination Committee has expressed deep anguish over the interim report issued by Commission headed by Justice GD Sharma.
The Co-ordination Committee has a alleged that the report is absolutely a trash as the same is outcome of a bias attitude of the members of the Commission. While speaking in the Press Conference Convener of Co-ordination Committee alleged that the interim report which has not been made public, but as per the media reports it appears that same is outcome of great bias against the weaker and deprived sections of people. The speakers alleged that for the last two years the world has been under Pandemic of Covid-19, the so-called Other Backward Commission could not venture out in the fields and has framed interim report which is not based on facts and ground situations.

While speaking on the occasion, Bashir Ahmed, Aslam Khan and Mushtaq Ahmed alleged that the biased stance of Commission has intentionally and deliberately tried to divide the people on religious, communal and societal lines. It has further been alleged that Commission’s interim report is being concealed from the society for certain reasons and in principle it should have been made public for its scrutiny. It was said that a Community from which a member belongs to has also been categorize as proposed Scheduled Tribe and the very principle of Justice has been violated, as nobody can be judge of his own cause. They appealed the Govt to reject the report of the Commission as there is resentment among certain sections against it, specially those who will be affected with it weather existing OBCs or STs.
Anwar Choudhary claimed that representatives of Gujjars are getting together in New Delhi at Jantar Mantar on November Ist, 2022 to protest against the above biased report and any intention to include so-called Pahari speaking people in Scheduled Tribe category. Several other senior members also spoke on the occasion.
