MENDHAR, Jan 6: A Forest guard and another employee were attacked and severely beaten up by a contractor and his associates after they resisted illegal construction on the Forest land.
Reports said that beat guard Mohd Sadiq and another employee of the department found construction of Govt School on the Forest land at Simkan village in Mankote. They objected to it and said that building was supposed to be constructed on another side. Upon this the contractor Mohd Fazal and his men allegedly attacked the Forest employees and Mohd Sadiq had to be admitted in SDH Mendhar. They informed the matter to Range Officer Mendhar regarding Forest land grabbing in compartment No. 183 and the officer has lodged an FIR in this connection.
