Refer your editorial ‘ GST relief on flats and homes’ DE Feb 27, 2019.
The decision of the Government to slash GST rates for under construction houses, and affordable homes is more than welcomes. It is certainly going to give a boost to real estate sector which got terribly hit after demonetisation and implementation of GST scheme. The GST relief will bring cheer on the faces of buyers and sellers besides creating job opportunities.
However, it may be mentioned here that there is need to keep a vigil on the real sector as black money will again find its shelter in it. Moreover, it must be ensured that the builders, real estate developers do not dupe the gullible customers by offering them attractive options till they sign the contract but later on finding that they had been duped.
