POONCH, June 27- A Sarpanch from Bufliaz (A) Panchayat today alleged that he was slapped and beaten up by a GRS during a meeting convened by BDO at Bufliaz in Surankote area of Poonch district.
The Sarpnch, Amjiad Khan from Bafliaz alleged that while he was informing the meeting about the problems being faced by people in his area, a GRS (Gram Rozgar Sewak Yasir Khan of MGNERGA ) in RDD department suddenly came and slapped him. “He then went on to beat me up and all this happened in presence of the BDO and other Sarpanches, Panches and officials present in the meeting,” he said.
Khan has filed a complaint with the district authorities and police, seeking action against the GRS.
When contacted, ACD Poonch Rajesh Lakhan said that he will look into the matter. “If it has happened, it is very bad. I will look into it,” he said.
Meanwhile, the GRS Yasir has been attached to the office of ACD Poonch and inquiry has been ordered in this connection.
