JAMMU, May 28: Illustrating the rare act of honesty, the GRP Jammu men handed over the lost bag containing valuables and cash to its actual owner.
According to SP Railways Jammu Suram Singh, on May 26, GRP men found a bag containing valuables and cash, which was left over by some Shri Mata Vaishno Devi yatries. The bag was deposited at police post GRP West and hunt was launched to trace the owner of the bag, he added.
He stated that after making hard efforts through telephone and emails, GRP Jammu finally traced the owner of the bag.
The owner of the bag has been identified Anil Kumar Soni, son of Roshan Lal Soni of Defence Colony, Airport Road, Baraley, Uttar Pradesh, he disclosed.
SP stated that bag containing valuables and Rs 6,200 cash was handed over to the family member of Anil by Inspector Neeraj Choudhary after completion of legal formalities.
