GRP Jammu facilitates migrant workers arriving from Kashmir

JAMMU, Oct 22: In collaboration with the Civil Administration and some social organizations, GRP Jammu is working day and night for arrangements of non-local labourers arriving from Kashmir Valley directly to Railway Station Jammu.
The area Magistrate Bahu, Tehsildar Dr Rohit along with SDPO Railways, Albeena Malik, SHO Railways and other deployed officials of GRP Jammu are manning the arrangements as per the directions from higher-ups.
The arrangements included the liasoning of passengers’ departure from Jammu Railways to respective States with Railways authorities and their officers, meals, logistics i.e. tents on Railways Stadium Ground, lavatories/toilet/water facilities. In view of apprehensions of rain, the matter has been taken up with the DC Jammu Anshul Garg, who ensured the in-house facilities too for stranded passengers subject to the weather condition.
The volunteer organization Trader’s Welfare Associations Warehouse Jammu is doing tremendous job by providing three times meals to these non-locals for the last three days. Today EkkJutt Jammu and NGO Gracious Givers also joined hand in this noble cause.
The GRP Jammu is also ensuring extra vigil by checking and frisking through Dog Squad / BD checking and by installing DFMD on entry point of Stadium Ground.
