Grievance of military

Sir,
This has reference to the article “Military: when will we get our due” DE Jan 06.
It is very painful to see the injustice being met to military  personnel    by gradually lowering their emoluments, pay and  allowances whereas the salary of  bureaucrats who are closely associated  with the Government is being  increased.  The  anomalies in the 7th Pay Commission recommendations has caused a lot of resentment among the rank and file of the defense forces and has lowered their morale and status which forced the three service chiefs to take a strong stand on the issue.
Everybody will appreciate the role being played by the military personnel  particularly in the present scenario when enemy is making all out attempts to infiltrate and create the disturbances. Furthermore, the role of armed forces can not be equated with any other functionary of the Government.  It is Army which is called to rescue when all others fail.  How can the same risk allowance be given to a civilian bureaucrat working at Guwahti and an army man posted at Saichan glacier? It is insulting and  disgusting. The leaders in the NDA Government who boast  to be  great nationalists and claiming to care for military should wake up to the situation and set  things in order by removing the anomalies in the pay structure of Armed Forces.  Much water has flown down the Ganges and  the Government have lost its credibility  in implementing OROP partially.
It is expected that the Government will take  necessary steps to boost the morale  of the soldiers at its earliest, as justice delayed is justice denied.
Yours etc…..
