JAMMU, Feb 16: A Grand Gurmat Samagam was organized in the loving memory of Sant Gurbaksh Singh Ji Danna at Gurudwara Sri Guru Arjun Dev Akhnoor road Domana, under the patronage of Sant Tejwant Singh, Dera Mukhi Sant Pura Danna.
The programme was organized with the active cooperation of Joginder Singh Bali and Updesh Kour Bali (Hong Kong Waley), Baldev Singh CEO Peaks Auto Limited, TS Wazir Chairman State Gurudwara Prabandhak Board and Advocate Surinder Kour.
Renowned Ragi Jathas Kawaljit Singh and Dalbir Singh, both from Hazuri Ragi’s Sri Darbar Sahib recited Gurbani Kirtan and conveyed the message of great Sikh Gurus and Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
Other Ragi Jathas’s who recited Gurbani Kirtan were Kulvinder Singh, Rajinder Singh, Ravinder Singh and School children of SGSD international School Domana.
Bachitter Singh Head Granthi Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib appealed to the people to follow the path shown by Sri Guru Granth Sahib for the world peace and for the well being of humanity.
Dr Jaspal Singh Former Ambassador and Vice Chancellor Punjabi University Patiala, Member Minority Commission of India paid homage to Sant Gurbaksh Singh Danna and urged the community to follow path shown by Sri Guru Nanak Dev through his teachings worldwide.
Other prominent persons who paid homage to Sant Gurbaksh Singh Danna were Raman Bhalkla Ex Minister, Ajay Sadotra Ex Minister, Harjit Singh Member DGPC Kathua, TS Wazir Chairman State Gurudwara Parbandhak Board, Surinder Singh Advocate Trustee Sant Pura Danna Charitable trust.
Balvinder Singh spokesperson Sant Gurbaksh Singh Danna Charitable Trust and member SGSD International School Management Committee while speaking on the occasion said that Sikhs of J&K UT are desirous of taking up the development, construction and upkeep of Gurudwara Pathar Sahib Leh. He urged upon the UT Administration of J&K to handover the management of Gurudwara Sri Pathar Sahib Leh to the Sikh community.
Sant Tejwant Singh bestowed his blessings and honoured Joginder Singh Bali and Updesh Kour Bali for their valuable contribution for organizing the samagam and for the development of SGSD International School run by Sant Danna Charitable Trust. Balwant Rai was also honored on the occasion who donated land for the construction of Gurudwara Sahib.
A book titled “Brief History of Dera Sant Pura Danna” written by Dr Jasbir Singh Sarna was also released in the Samagam.
Manjit Singh Member SGSD International School Management Committee gave details of the School run by Sant Pura Danna Charitable Trust and also declared that the admission for the new session of the School is open. He urged all the residence of the area to take benefit of the institution.
