JAMMU, May 4: Amid a shortage of protective equipment for health-care workers treating Corona Virus patients, police officials deployed at different places and sanitation staff who are working to ensure the safety of the residents of Jammu, Gramiksha (NGO) has donated 200 face masks to JMC today.
The face masks were handed over to Advocate, Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor, JMC in presence of Chairman Health and Sanitation, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Councilor, Parmodh Kapahi, Commissioner Avny Lavasa, Health Officer JMC, Shamim Mir and Sanchit Agarwal and Nakul Saraf members of the Gramiksha(NGO).
Adv. Purnima Sharma, while appreciating the efforts of the NGO said that since the outbreak of Corona Virus (COVID-19), the Indian market has seen a huge surge in the prices of various face masks and hand sanitizers due to which many individuals are unable to procure them. She further said that it is duty of everyone of us to contribute in any possible way, but at the same time, she insisted that the biggest contribution will be not to venture out of our homes unnecessarily. She simultaneously appealed to all for strictly adhering to the guidelines issued by the enforcement agencies to check the spread of Covid-19 infection.
