Grameen Bank organizes financial literacy camp

JAMMU, Nov 13: Financial Inclusion and Insurance Department and Financial Literacy Center Jammu under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural in collaboration with NABARD on the eve of 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev organized Financial Literacy Awareness Programmes at Chatha, Jammu under Branch offices Chatha and Simbal Camp.
On the occasion, Ajay Bharti, Chief Manager, J&K Grameen Bank informed the masses about the benefits of social security schemes namely Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).He also stressed upon the PMSBY & PMJJBY claims process. He also educated the masses the emergence of Aadhaar Seeding and Mobile Seeding with their respective saving bank accounts.
Sahil Sharma, Regional Manager, Jammu, J&K Grameen Bank highlighted that the programme educated the gathering about the benefits of digital banking and cash less economy. He elaborated the country’s move from cash to cashless economy. He enlightened them about new technologies available in the Bank such as Bank cheques, Use of POS Machine, Rupay Debit card, KCC Rupay Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, IMPS, Aadhaar based transactions etc.
Dhanwant Singh, Branch Head, BO Chatha, J&K Grameen Bank spread awareness about various lending schemes offered by the bank for general public such as Housing loan, Transport loan, Car loan, Education loan etc. where rate of interest charged by the bank is very competitive and which are available on easy EMIs.
Rupay debit cards were distributed to the customers. Pamphlets were also distributed showing the slashed interest rates on various loan schemes. Representatives of Line Departments like KVIB, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Education and NRLM were also present during the occasion. Besides the huge gathering, Sarpanches & Panchs and other dignitaries of the area were also present on the occasion.
