Grameen Bank organizes financial literacy camp

JAMMU, Nov 29: Financial Literacy Center, J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) organized Going Digital financial literacy camp at unbanked village Sagoon, Surinsar, in district Jammu.
The camp was organized under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural at village Sagoon under the Branch Office Surinsar. The programme was intended to widespread the knowledge regarding various financial products and the recent technological innovations in banking sector.
Vipan Gupta, HoD, Financial Literacy Centre, JKGB, informed the masses about the benefits of social security schemes namely Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
He told the gathering about the latest developments in PMJDY like the raising of overdraft amount to Rs 10, 000, increase of age limit to open a PMJDY account to 65 years, no condition for overdraft up to Rs 2000 and raising of accidental insurance cover for new Rupay card holders from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh for the new PMJDY accounts opened after 28-08-2018.
Nisar Malik, Manager, Regional Office Jammu, spoke at length about the ongoing JKGB Festival Bonanza – 2018 with a special offer of rebate in rate of interest and no processing charges on car, consumer durable goods and two wheeler loans.
Priyanka Sharma, Associate Executive IT and Vicky Kumar, FI&I Department, enlightened the participants about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of Bank cheques, use of POS Machine, RuPay Debit card, KCC RuPay Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, Adhaar based transactions etc. The thrust was also given on various IT products like RuPay cards, SMS Alerts, NEFT/ RTGS and Immediate Payment services (IMPS).
Rajeev Kumar, State Head, Religare, made the gathering aware regarding various health insurance products of Religare offered to customers of J&K Grameen Bank.
