SAMBA, Nov 23: MF&FI Department of J&K Grameen Bank, in collaboration with NABARD, organized Digital- Financial Literacy Awareness Programme in village Baletar, Samba under the Branch Office Sumb.
Daljeet Singh , Branch Manager, BO Sumb, informed the participants regarding various modes of getting cashless transactions from banks, various safeguards to be kept in mind in order to be aware and prevent cases of cheating/ corruption while availing different banking facilities with special reference to use of ATM Cards, Mobile Banking etc. He impressed upon the participant not to use any middle man for availing any benefit from bank and approach the bank branch directly. He laid emphasis on adoption of social security schemes launched by GoI on war footing; that shall ameliorate the lot of unorganized sector who remain deprived from such facilities. He also stressed the need of using various Applications of the bank for getting cashless transactions and also highlighted the importance of cashless transactions that shall not only save time of the customers, reduce their wait time in banks but shall give boost to direct revenues of the Government in the shape of tax collections utilized for development of the villages. He stressed for availing benefits of bank schemes available on hassle free manner.
His main emphasis was on cashless economy and he guided them to make transactions without having cash in hand. He enlightened people about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of bank cheques, use of PoS machine, RuPay Debit card, KCC RuPay Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, IMPS, Adhaar based transactions etc.
He also made the people aware about merits and demerits of using such services and precautions to be taken while utilizing such facilities. He advised people not to get trapped in fake calls, which is very common trend used by some fraudulent persons active in the market. Apart from this, he made them aware about various lending schemes tailored by the Grameen Bank for general pubic available on easy EMIs.
Major Singh, Sarpanch, village. Baletar, who was chief guest on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of the bank towards financial literacy.
