SAMBA, Dec 21: With the objective of providing Financial Inclusion to the un-banked people, J&K Grameen Bank in collaboration with NABARD organized one day awareness programme at Village Nonath, in which representative from line departments, Sarpanchs, Panchs, people and social workers took part.
On the occasion, Arun Kumar Gupta, chief of Audit and Inspection, J&K Grameen Bank, was the chief guest, who inaugurated the awareness programme.
While speaking, Gupta outlined the Financial Inclusion concept and said that bank is regularly organizing such type of programmes for imparting education to the general masses more particularly to the financially excluded people.
Ram Paul Sharma, Senior Manager, Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion highlighted the schemes of the bank in detail and awared the masses about the policies and programmes of RBI for facilitating Financial Inclusion programme.
Surinder Singh, DDM NABARD while speaking stressed for reaching out to un-reached segment of the population.
Later, Arun Kumar Gupta along with other dignitaries distributed Kissan Credit Cards worth Rs 1 crore and other loans amounting to Rs 70.50 lakh were distributed to the beneficiaries on spot.
Earlier, Sham Lal Sharma, Area Manager, Kathua presented the welcome address, while vote of thanks was presented by Upinder Sharma, Branch Head, Ghagwal.
