SAMBA, July 18: Continuing its drive for upliftment of the rural masses, J&K Grameen Bank in collaboration with NABARD organized Awareness-cum-Financial Literacy Camp at village Pangdour, here today.
Inderjeet Bhagat, Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba who was the chief guest on the occasion inaugurated the Awareness Programme on financial inclusion in an impressive function.
Mr Vagish Chander Sharma, Chairman, J&K Grameen Bank, while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the initiatives taken by the bank for credit outflow in diversified activities for the purpose of setting up economic units for augmenting the income of the families and in turn overall development of the rural people through institutional credit.
S Gurcharan Singh, General Manager, (JKGB) also highlighted the policies and programmes of the Bank for facilitating Financial Inclusion Programme.
He urged upon the gathering to avail various loan facilities like KCC/GCC/KVIB and other schemes available with the bank.
Earlier, V K Sharma, Senior Manager, Microfinance and Financial Inclusion appraised about the concept of financial inclusion put forward by GOI and also about various lending schemes of the bank for providing credit to agriculturists, etc.
An amount of Rs 27 lakh was disbursed on spot to the 47 beneficiaries in the shape of KCC/KVIB.
Veena Bakshi, president, Jagrati Mahila Udhyog Kendra, NGO also briefed the large gathering of women present on the occasion about the importance of SHGs.
Surinder Singh, DDM NABARD, highilighted the importance of Farmers Clubs and Self Help Groups.
Savresh Kohli, Area Manager, District Samba, presented the vote of thanks.
