Grameen Bank organises financial literacy awareness prog

AKHNOOR, Mar 23: J&K Grameen Bank under the chairmanship of RK Chhibber in collaboration with NABARD organized digital financial literacy awareness programmes at villages Maira and Dhanuchak under the branch office Maira and Jourian in Akhnoor Sub Division of district Jammu today.
RS Billawaria, Area Manager Jammu, who was the chief guest on the occasion, highlighted about developments in banking sector and latest schemes. He informed the participants regarding various modes of getting cashless transactions from banks, various safeguards to be kept in mind in order to be aware and prevent cases of cheating/corruption while availing different banking facilities with special reference to use of ATM Cards, Mobile banking etc.
He impressed upon the participants not to use any middle man for availing any benefit from bank and approach the Bank branch directly. He laid emphasis on adoption of social security schemes launched by Govt of India on war footing; that shall ameliorate the lot of un-organised sector who remain deprived from such facilities.
Vipan Gupta, Senior Manager MF & FI Deptt J&K Grameen Bank stressed the need of using various applications of the bank for getting cashless transactions and also highlighted the importance of cashless transactions.
He enlightened people about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of Bank cheques, use of POS Machine, RuPay Debit card, KCC RuPay Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, IMPS, Adhaar based transactions etc. He also awared them the merits and demerits of using such services and precautions to be taken care of while utilizing such facilities and advised people not to get trapped in fake calls, which is very common trend used by some fraudulent person’s active in the market.
Branch Head Maira , Chaman Lal and Branch Head Jourian Rakesh Koul detailed the people about the various social security schemes including PMSSBY, PMJBY and APY.
