Grameen Bank conducts Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan in unbanked area

SRINAGAR, July 27: Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department of the J&K Grameen Bank,   in collaboration with  Regional Office Baramulla, conducted Government of India’s campaign , `Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan’  in the remote village Laduladoora,  under the Branch Office- Rohama.
Vipan Gupta, Sr Manager MFFI Department JKGB, who was chief guest on the occasion, advised all the braches falling in his region to enroll more and more persons under the social security schemes so that the poor and unreachable population may also get the benefits of these schemes. He said that campaign under Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan Phase 2, started from 01 June 2018 to 15 August 2018 is being conducted in 187 villages of Regional Office Baramulla and Kupwara. In 56 days, the bank has enrolled 30442 enrollments under the GOI Social Security Schemes viz., PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY & APY, he informed.
He strictly advised all the Branch Heads of Baramulla and Kupwara region to open the accounts of unbanked population of backward areas of these given 187 villages under Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bhima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha BhimaYojana (PMSBY). He advised all branches to attain 100 percent saturation under social security schemes in these 187 villages given by DFS.
Regional Manager Bramulla, G R Bhat informed that at least 250 new enrolments were done during the programme. The participants were also informed about technological innovations in banking industry,  including NEFT/RTGS, Online Banking, IMPS, SMS Banking, Rupay Card, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System & Direct Benefit Transfer etc to promote the digital banking and move towards the cashless economy.
Masooda Begum and Shamima from ICDS Centre also made people aware of the schemes.  Local dignities advised the Bank staff for door to door banking under this campaign so that everyone may get benefitted.
Branch Head Rohama,  Ghulam Mohi-Din  made people aware about  various lending schemes available on easy EMIs i.e. Housing Loan, Transport Loan, Car Loan, Education Loan, etc, where rate of interest charged by the bank is very competitive.  RuPay debit cards were also distrubuted to the customers.
