Gram dal cheaper by Rs 200; other commodities rule steady

CHENNAI, July 27:  A steady trend prevailed as prices of all commodities barring gram dal remained unaltered in the wholesale foodgrains market here during the week ended today.
Gram dal opened the week Rs 100 lower at Rs 3,900 per quintal and further declined to close at Rs 3,800, a net loss of Rs 200 from the previous week close.
Thoor dal at Rs 7,000, urad dal at Rs 5,500, Moong dal at Rs 7,400, sugar at Rs 3,180, wheat at Rs 2,300, maida (90 kgs) at Rs 2,400 and sooji at Rs 2,500 remained unchanged from the previous week closing rates. (PTI)
