Govt withdraws Class-IV posts referred to Div Coms

JAMMU, Feb 26: The Government of J&K today ordered withdrawal of Class-IV posts, which were referred to Divisional Commissioners Jammu/Kashmir more than 14 years back for selection of eligible candidates through open competition.
According to an order in this regard, the selection process initiated by the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir and Divisional Commissioner Jammu, in pursuance of Government order number 42-GAD of 2006, dated 09-01-2006, is hereby cancelled.
The Divisional Commissioners shall immediately return these posts to the concerned Administrative Departments, which shall refer these posts to the General Administration Department for their further referral to J&K Services Selection Board after ascertaining the availability of vacancies as on date and seeking prior concurrence of the Finance Department, read the order.
In terms of Government order number 42-GAD of 2006, 510 and 280 Class-IV posts were placed at the disposal of Div Com Kashmir and Div Com Jammu, respectively for selection of candidates through Open competition.
However, after issuance of the advertisement for these posts, no further progress was made by the concerned selection authorities and the process remained inconclusive till date. Both the Divisional Commissioners had repeatedly expressed their inability to conclude the selection process keeping in consideration various shortcomings in the process as also delay in concluding the same and according requested for withdrawal of these posts.
