Govt will be formed soon: Madhav

NEW DELHI, Feb 12:
Prospects of installation of a PDP-BJP Government in Jammu and Kashmir brightened, with both the parties understood to have reached an agreement.
Sources said the process for Government formation is likely to be completed by February 23.
BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav today told reporters that both the parties were in discussions for preparation of a Common Minimum Programme (CMP), and hoped that the Government in the State would be formed soon.
According to him, some tricky issues came during the CMP discussions, and were yet to be settled. Sources said both the parties have reached an agreement on at least 12 issues and the new Government might be formed by February 23.
There are indications that PDP patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed will be the Chief Minister and he is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sources indicated that after the rout in Delhi Assembly polls, there is a significant change in the BJP’s stand over Government formation in Jammu and Kashmir.
PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti, during her Delhi visit recently, had met BJP president Amit Shah and Mr Madhav. Assembly polls in the State had thrown up a fractured mandate. PDP had won 28 seats, while BJP had got 25.
All talks for Government formation had failed earlier, and the State was brought under the Governor’s Rule, while the Assembly was kept in a suspended animation.
Meanwhile, Ram Madhav, BJP Incharge for Jammu and Kashmir Avinash Rai Khanna and J&K BJP president Jugal Kishore Sharma held a meeting in New Delhi and discussed party’s strategy for Government formation and Legislative Council elections. (UNI)
