BHADERWAH, May 5: After getting elevated as Minister for Power and Minister of State for Education, Tourism, Rural Development, Tribal Affairs, Information, R&B, Youth Service & Sports, Revenue & Culture respectively, Sunil Kumar Sharma and Shakti Raj Parihar paid their first visit to Bhaderwah along with Daleep Singh Parihar, MLA Bhaderwah and Ashok Koul party general secretary (Org) and addressed a mammoth public rally here.
People welcomed the Ministers with great enthusiasm and expressed gratitude to present Coalition Government for giving due representation to the area in the Ministry. They hoped the change would bring a significant development of Chenab valley besides welfare of downtrodden sections of the area.
Minister for Power, Sunil Kumar Sharma in his speech, said that most of the population of Chenab region lives in rural areas and the Government will work round the clock to provide all the basic amenities to these people at their doorstep besides it will bring welfare measures in execution for upliftment of weaker and poor.
The Minister further added that Government intends to tap huge potential of power generation in the Chenab region and concrete efforts are being made to harness the same.
With the opening of many other hydro power projects on river Chenab, the problems of power shortage in the area, unemployment and revenue generation can be reduced significantly, Sharma, said. He assured to provide electricity to all the left out villages in both the districts on priority.
Minister of State, Shakti Raj Parihar while speaking assured the people of all round development of the region. He laid stress on development of tourism in Chenab region in general and Bhaderwah in particular as the place has been bestowed with huge tourism potential and natural beauty by nature.
Parihar further said that being elevated as Minister he has been given a huge responsibility and that he will work his best to come up to expectations of people and his party leadership.
He said, all the major tourist destinations of Bhaderwah will be connected shortly and provided every basic infrastructure required to facilitate tourist from all over the country. Terming education as a key to revolutionize the society, he urged the youth to strive for quality education and work with zeal to contribute towards country’s growth and make it corruption free.
MLA Bhaderwah Daleep Parihar also spoke on the occasion and said he has always been committed to serve the people.
Counting numerous achievements made by the present Government, he informed that work of Chattragalla Tunnel on Bhaderwah- Basholi road is going to be taken up in hand shortly and will be completed in a fixed time frame.
Party general secretary (org) Ashok Koul in his address stressed on creating a people friendly environment so as to make it convenient for the people to redress their genuine demands and grievances. He also highlighted the role of social media which is an important tool to interact with number of people within a fraction of seconds.
He urged the ministers to be more responsive and active on the social media platforms while listening to the grievances of the people.
