JAMMU, July 4: The Finance Department has taken exception to retention/overstay of some employees in the services beyond normal date of their retirement and reiterated its clear-cut instructions to ensure that all employees retire on their due date.
“The Administrative Secretaries to Government are requested to impress upon their subordinate HoDs and Controlling Officers to strictly adhere to the codal provisions while dealing with the issues or undue retention/overstay in the Government offices,” an official order issued today by the Finance Department said.
The Government order reminded the HoDs and Controlling Officers to frame and issue Retirement Memos bi-annually (January 1 and July 1) every year for all Gazetted/Non-Gazetted Government servants due to retirement within next 24 to 30 months as prescribed under Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services Rules.
“The officers involved and found responsible for overstay of employees in services beyond their due dates of retirement will be identified and appropriate action under rules initiated against them to overcome such situations,” the Finance Department order said.
