JAMMU, Feb 29: Leaders of different political parties have demanded immediate rollback of Government decision to scrap J&K Bank recruitment process.
Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has sought intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu for immediate roll back of the Government decision and said that scrapping jobs of gullible youth would bring despair and not hope to jobless youth in J&K.
Saying that it is surprising to see J&K administration revealing about the irregularities in the recruitment process after two years of initiation of recruitment process, the PDF Chairman urged the Government to punish the officers responsible for irregularities in the selection process and not the youth selected through regular recruitment process.
Terming the decision of J&K administration to scrap the recruitment process of 250 Probationary Officers and 1,200 Banking Associates in J&K Bank as bizarre, CPI (M) Secretary Gh Nabi Malik said it has put the career of job aspirants in dark.
“The administration’s reasons that various `legal infirmities’ had been pointed out in the ongoing process are weird. The reality is that the recruitment process had started and concluded under Governor’s rule and not under any political Government in the erstwhile State,” he said, in a statement, issued here today and accused the administration trying to undermine the autonomy of this premier financial institution of J&K.
Reacting to the decision of the Government, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that the Government could have procured the fresh result sheet from the recruiting agency and went ahead with the further process of declaring the result of Banking Associates while conducting interviews for POs posts, instead of scrapping the entire process without any justified reason. There should be transparency in every action of the Government, as there is large scale resentment against the decision of the Government, he added.
Senior Congress leader and former JMC Councilor, Satish Sharma has lashed out at the Government for scrapping the J&K Bank recruitment process and thus disappointing the youth who were waiting for the exam result and getting a job in the bank. “If this attitude of the Government continues towards the youth, the latter will have no option other than to take streets for getting their right,” he warned.
