JAMMU, Sept 9: The UT Government of J&K has decided to provide 7.9 per cent interest on General Provident Fund (GPF) of the employees for the fourth quarter of the year 2019-2020 i.e from January 1 to March 31 this year.
An order to this effect was issued by the Government today. The order was issued in pursuance to the notification of January 15 and notification of July 13 this year issued by the Department of Economics Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
As per the order, the interest rate of first quarter of the year 2020-2021 i.e from 1-4-2020 to 30-6-2020 and for second quarter of the year 2020-2021 i.e from 1-07-2020 to 30-9-2020 will be 7.1 per cent respectively.
