Govt to examine BOPEE panel under Central Pool MBBS/BDS seats

JAMMU, Sept 18: The State Government has constituted a committee to examine the panel submitted under the scheme `Central Pool MBBS & BDS seats allocation’ to Jammu and Kashmir.
The committee under the chairmanship of K Vijay Kumar, Advisor to the Governor, shall examine the panel submitted by the Chairman Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) under the scheme and to make nomination of the eligible candidates to the colleges identified by the Ministry of Health & family Welfare, Government of India.
The committee shall complete the work for the year 2019-20 by September 20, 2019 and send nomination of the eligible candidates to the Government of India, with Supreme Court relaxations given to Jammu and Kashmir.
Administrative Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department is Member Secretary of the committee while Administrative Secretary Home and Administrative Secretary GAD are its Members. Chairman BOPEE shall attend meetings of the committee as Special Invitee.
Pertinent to mention here that under the Central Pool MBBS & BDS seats, Jammu and Kashmir has been allocated four MBBS seats for the academic session 2019-20. These MBBS seats are being allocated for allotment to the candidates from J&K belonging to victim families of terrorism or cross-firing or border firing or those who have migrated from Kashmir due to the current situation and lost their means of livelihood.
