JAMMU, Mar 28: The Government today tabled a bill to regulate private security agencies operating in the State.
On the behalf of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Minister for Finance Abdul Rahim Rather today tabled a bill in the Assembly to provide regulation of private security agencies and for the matters connected therein.
Under the bill, the Government is proposing to appoint a controlling authority headed by a officer of the rank of Special Secretary as head of the authority.
Under the act, no person shall carry on or commence the business of private security agency unless he holds a license issued under the act.
The bill aims at providing the legal frame work for regulating the functioning of the private security agencies including their licensing and de-licensing. (AGENCIES)
