Govt sets up panel to end adhoc promotions

JAMMU, Dec 31: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir today accorded sanction to the constitution of group of officers for proposing a roadmap to put an end to the practice of making adhoc promotions in various departments.
The group of officers shall examine the reasons behind prevalent and continuing system of making adhoc promotions in Government departments. Besides examining the bottlenecks confronted by the department in making regular promotions, the group of officers shall propose a roadmap for stopping the practice of making adhoc promotions.
The group of officers, comprising Administrative Secretaries of various departments, including Finance, PW(R&B), GAD, Jal Shakti, AIR & Training, Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, shall submit its report within a period of four weeks.
