JAMMU:
A five-member ministerial group has been constituted to oversee the implementation of the ‘Agenda of the Alliance’ of the PDP-BJP Government in the State.
Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today formed the group, led by Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, which will oversee the implementation of various components of the ‘Agenda of the alliance’ in the State, an official spokesperson said.
The group includes Minister for Rural Development Abdul Haq Khan, Minister for PHE, I&FC Sukhnandan Kumar, Minister for Finance Haseeb A Drabu, and Minister of State for Cooperatives (Independent Charge) & Ladakh Affairs Chering Dorjey.
The group has been authorised to visit New Delhi and to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and meet other senior union ministers for resolution of issues relating to implementation of various aspects of the agenda of the coalition Government, he said.
The ministers are likely to travel to New Delhi next week to hold meetings with senior union ministers.
On the administrative side, a cell is being created in the General Administration department which will maintain necessary record regarding time-bound implementation of the ‘Agenda of the Alliance’ and to take follow-up action on the meetings held by the group.
The agenda of the BJP-PDP alliance in the state includes creation of conditions to facilitate resolution of all issues of J&K by talking to all stakeholders, maintaining present position on all constitutional provisions pertaining to J&K, including the special status in the Constitution of India, and examining the need for de-notifying ‘disturbed areas’ over revocation of AFSPA.
