Govt to set up committee for fodder development

NEW DELHI, Aug 18:
Government today said it has decided to set up a national steering committee to address issues related to feed and fodder development in the country.
A decision in this regard was taken at a review meeting held by Animal Husbandry Secretary Devendra Choudhry here.
“The Government has decided to constitute a national steering committee,” an official statement said.
The issues related to increasing nutritious fodder within available resources were also discussed at length.
The proposed committee will be headed by the secretary while a technical panel will be led by the Director of Bangalore-based National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology (NIANP).
Representatives of NIANP, Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, National Dairy Development Board and Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) were also present. (PTI)
