RAJOURI : The district administration Rajouri today retrieved more than 40 Kanals of state land and property of agriculture department which was encroached by people
The land was retrieved during a drive launched by a team of officers including Tehsildar Koteranka, BDO Koteranka, NT Kandi, SHO Koteranka and other officials on directions of Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary. The team carried out an extensive operation after demarcation and retrieved the encroached land. Police force was also deployed for retrieving the land while the Department of Rural Development also started fencing on the retrieved land.
The land has been included for Eco-Park being constructed as a convergence model in district.
Officials said 276 Kanals of land has been included in the Eco-Park project coming up at Kandi. They said the Eco-Park is first of its kind project in the region which will have children park , botanical garden, cactus garden, flower beds, parks , cafeteria , huts and other amenities.
It has been planned under Convergence of local resources and expected to be completed by end of this year. It will be special focus on educational tours and learning.
