JAMMU, Mar 24: Taking serious note of what it called the inhuman attitude of the State Government against the Kashmiri Pandit refugees putting up at the Jagti refugee camp near here, Panun Kashmir today accused the Government of resorting to the policy of second destabilization by creating a State sponsored environment of intimidation.
Addressing the meeting of prominent citizens organized by PK to take the stock of the Jagti situation where the inmates were put to many hardships, senior PK leader P L Raina said psychological pressure is being mounted on the economically fragile KP refugees of Jagti Camp, TRT Nagrota, TRT Muthi and other refugee settlements by asking them to pay the electricity bills.
He said when the crores of the rupees of the State exchequer and the Central Government funds are being spent on the well being and the security of the separatists who have waged a war against the Indian nation, the Government has resorted to curtailing the water supply and electricity to the refugees at Jagti on the pretext that they have been shifted to so called township which is a cut off place far away from the life line that are needed to sustain the human life in bare minimum terms.
He said the township has no proper hospital, proper educational facilities, transport facilities and no cremation ground. Has the refugee status of KPs changed from changed on being shifted from one refugee settlement to another, he asked?.
Terming these moves a gross violation of human rights of the internally displaced people, he said there is a premium for separatists and humiliation for the nationalists in the State.
Sanjay Raina coordinator PK said that by shifting the migrants to Jagti camp there condition has become from bad to worse while Chand Ji another coordinator alleged that Jagti has been reduced to concentrated camp.
Meanwhile, Dr Shakti Bhan chairperson of Daughters of Vitasta said that PK will continue struggle to counter this genocidal onslaught of the Government and redouble efforts for creation of separate homeland.
