DODA, May 2: Shortage of staff including teaching and non-teaching at Government Primary School Sharpura, Manoo-A besides non-availability of other basic amenities there has sowed resentment among the adjoining locals who depend on this institute for the bright future of their children.
However, zero results shown by the School has further intensified resentment of the locals against the education authorities.
As per locals the building housing the School is also very much unsafe and may collapse anytime.
Locals further informed that during rains and adverse weather conditions the School remains shut as a precautionary measure.
They claimed that Education Department was playing with the lives of their children as despite repeated requests to the concerned ZEO Batyas, CEO Doda and district administrators, nothing fruitful has emerged in this direction.
All this apathy of the authorities triggered a protest demonstration by the people of Manoo and adjoining villages against the education authorities wherein they all assembled in the School and raised slogans against the Education Department.
The protesters claimed that the school was in pitiable condition due to the apathy of concerned authorities.
“There is no proper sitting arrangement for the students in the School and the poor students are also deprived of curricular activities besides the School also lacks very many basic facilities and the class rooms were also in bad shape,” they maintained.
Bashir Ahmed, a social activist claimed that there were only three staff members in the school of which only one attends the duty and the other two remains absent on one pretext or the other which is badly affecting studies of the poor students of the School whose strength is 107 at present.
