JAMMU, Nov 5: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary, today said the Government has taken various initiatives to provide all-weather road connectivity to people of the State with emphasis on rural and border areas.
The Minister was speaking after kick starting blacktopping work on 3 km road from Nanowali to Magowali to be executed at an estimated cost of Rs. 41 lakh under macadamization of rural roads.
Spelling out Government’s endeavours of extending an expanded road network in every part of the State, the Minister said that during the regime of present dispensation the State has received substantial funding from the Centre under several schemes envisaging enhanced connectivity. “With expansion in existing road network the State is witnessing a notable growth and development in different spheres”, he added.
The Minister, while counting Government’s achievements in other sectors, said that several works have been started to improve sanitation and healthcare facilities in the border villages. “ The schemes launched for welfare of the people are yielding tangible results on ground”, he added.
He urged upon the people to come forward and take benefit of various Government schemes being launched for their socioeconomic empowerment.
