JAMMU, Aug 4: The Government today constituted a committee for examining the issues flagged by various stake holders in respect of policy/guidelines for registration, renewal/operation of houseboats in Dal/ Nageen Lakes.
The committee, headed by Director Tourism Kashmir, shall examine in detail the suggestions, comments and concerns putforth by the stakeholders in respect of policy/guideline for Registration, renewal/operation of House Boats in Dal/Nageen lake. It shall also suggest modification as may be required in the policy, having regard to the overall objective of conservation of Dal/Nageen lake and the orders of the High Court.
The committee shall submit its report within a period of ten days, so as to enable the Tourism Department to ensure finalization of the said policy by August 25, 2020.
