SRINAGAR, May 9: Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered an in-depth inquiry into the alleged delay in snow clearance operations and unauthorized absence from duty of certain officers and officials of the Public Works (R&B) Department.
According to the Government order, Mohd Yaseen Lone, Joint Director (Planning), Public Works (R&B) Department, has been appointed as Inquiry Officer.
The Order states that delays in snow clearance by some officials caused disruption in road connectivity and essential services. It further noted that certain employees were found absent from duties without any sanctioned leave, attracting disciplinary action under the service rules.
Mohib Ali Bukhari, Under Secretary, Public Works (R&B) Department, will assist the Inquiry Officer during the investigation.
The Inquiry Officer has been directed to submit the report along with recommendations within 21 days.
