JAMMAU, Apr 15:  Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla has expressed serious concern over handling of State affairs by  BJP-PDP Government, especially with regard to the NIT Srinagar incident..
Addressing party workers’ meeting at Dharap Kothey in Gandhi Nagar constituency today, Raman Bhalla said the  NIT Srinagar issue could not be handled properly and its flaring up  is the outcome of its inept handling by the BJP-PDP coalition.  Such sensitive issues need different approach to tackle.   He said  in  today’s social media-driven world, every message, word, emotion and upload has a contributory effect on opinion. Attempts at dissuasion will hardly connect but everything disruptive will sync in seconds and go viral. Thus intelligence agencies, the police and army have to be sensitive to emerging situations.
The Congress leader condemned the Government for mishandling sensitive issues where Govt’s failure in handling such issues has put big question mark on the credibility of Govt and alleged that the day BJP-PDP alliance Government took over the charge of State, the things have turned from bad to worse. “PDP-BJP Government has again turned out to be a complete failure in all fronts, let it be the question of good governance or bringing peace to the Valley”, he added.
Expressing concern over the rising trend of anti-national activities, Bhalla said Government has utterly failed in maintaining law and order situation. How enthusiastically people with simply no national interest in mind, no vision of India’s future, are painting black the one institution in J&K that has withstood the onslaught of militancy and terror with great nationalistic fervor. J&K Police is a truly professional force, whose men and women have never bothered about personal safety, former Minister maintained.
“The Government’s previous tenure is marked by gross non-delivery, acknowledged failure to fulfill the promises given to the people of the State and a betrayal of the people, particularly the poor, disadvantaged and the unemployed. This Government till now has singularly lacked the vision to galvanise economic growth and has chosen instead to create a smokescreen making boastful claims,”  Bhalla said.
