He pointed out that unprecedented power and water crisis in the whole State in general and Jammu province in particular was result of the failure on the part of present Government. He said that situation in Jammu province has virtually turned out of control due to severe shortage of drinking water and worst ever power crisis during scorching heat. Despite persistent appeals to the Govt to adhere to the schedule of power supply and the repeated assurances of the Govt, no action has been taken by the latter thus adding to the woes and miseries of common man , he said.
Bhalla said that the Jammu region has been the major sufferer with the Govt and its ministers being mute spectators in the face of a critical and crisis like situation. Students were the worst sufferers as studies have been badly affected by the grim power scenario. During the nights, the power goes off for hours and in absence of power, students are forced to study under candle-lights.
Addressing deputations from different areas of Gandhi Nagar constituency, Bhalla said that power infrastructure has completely collapsed in Jammu region and life of common people have thrown out of gear due to the power crisis. He said that instead of taking some steps to minimize miseries of people, the Govt is indulged into deceit tactics for cheap publicity.
