Govt invites applications for NLC India’s top post

NEW DELHI, Feb 11: Government headhunter PESB has invited applications for the post of Chairman and Managing Director of navratna firm NLC India Ltd.
“The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) is seeking qualified candidates for the post of Chairman & Managing Director, NLC India Ltd,” the government headhunter said.
Sarat Kumar Acharya had assumed office as Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Ltd in the year 2015.
Acharya is retiring from the top post of the navratna firm by July-end this year.
“It is requested that names of all candidates…May kindly be forwarded so as to reach the PESB by…16th February, 2018,” PESB said.
Prior to assumption of charge as CMD, Acharya served NLCIL as Director, Human Resource from December, 2010 to September, 2015.
Acharya carries with him rich and varied experience of over three decades in BHEL, NTPC, NTPC-SAIL Power Company and NLCIL.
The company operates four lignite mines viz, three lignite mines at Neyveli, Tamil Nadu and one lignite mine at Barsingsar, Rajasthan with an aggregate capacity of 30.60 million tonnes per annum.
The company at present operates four thermal power stations at Neyveli, Tamil Nadu and one thermal power station at Barsingsar.
The total power generation during 2016-17 was the highest ever since inception, registering a growth of 9.65 per cent over 2015-16. (PTI)
