JAMMU, Aug 16: Various Government institutions celebrated 71st Independence Day with patriotic fervour and zeal.
Governor NN Vohra hoisted the National Flag at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan as part of the Independence Day celebrations. On this joyous occasion the Governor and the First Lady greeted the assembled officers and staff of the Raj Bhavan Secretariat, household, gardens and security forces personnel and distributed sweets to all those present.
The 71st Independence Day was celebrated with traditional fervour and patriotism at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex where Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, hoisted the tricolour and took salute at an impressive march-past by the 29 contingents drawn from CRPF, NCC, Scouts and Guides, sports persons undergoing coaching at the Sports Complex, besides the students of various educational institutions. The students of various educational institutions presented a captivating cultural programme. Sahu gave prizes to the students who were adjudged best in the march-past and presentation of cultural programme. Among those present on the occasion were Dr MK Kumar and Anshul Garg, Additional CEOs, Hem Kant Prashar, Chief Accounts Officer, Pankaj Gupta, Dr Arvind Karwani and Deepak Dubey, Dy CEOs, SMVDSB, Dr (Brig) MM Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, SMVDNSH, SK Mishra, Commandant, 6th Bn CRPF, Neelam Khajuria, SDM, Katra, Sumir Kotwal, Additional SP, Katra, Manu Hansa, Asstt CEO, Ashok Kumar, Director Sports, SMVDSB, senior civil, police and security forces officers, prominent citizens, heads of various educational institutions, officers and staff of the Shrine Board, a large number of people of the area, teachers, school children and the pilgrims. As part of the Independence Day celebrations, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, CEO, SMVDSB, also hoisted the tricolour at a function held at Central Office of the Shrine Board at Katra. Officers and employees of the Shrine Board were present on the occasion. The national flag was also hoisted at Bhawan and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal. At Bhawan, Jagdish Singh, SDM hoisted the tricolour, at the Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal, Dr (Brig) MM Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, SMVDNSH unfurled the tricolour. Similarly, SMVD College of Nursing, Kakryal also celebrated the Independence Day.
Principal Resident Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir, RK Gupta unfurled the National Flag at Jammu and Kashmir House, New Delhi to mark the 71st Independence Day. A contingent of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police presented the march past. The ceremonial function was attended by all the officers and officials of Jammu and Kashmir State, posted at New Delhi. Principal Resident Commissioner interacted with the officers and officials of the house and gave special gifts and commendation certificates to all the participants.
M Raju, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation hoisted the National Flag at Jammu Municipal Corporation, Town Hall Complex, Jammu during 71st Independence Day celebrations. Among others Rajesh Sharma, Joint Commissioner (A), Neeraj Gupta, Chief Accounts Officer, Kushal Chand, Joint Commissioner (W), Rakesh Chander Gupta, Special Asstt to Commissioner, Dr Anita Salgotra, Health Officer, Dr Jaswant Singh, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Talat Mehmood Khan, Chief Transport Officer, Rajesh Gupta Chief Khilafwarzi Officer, Executive Engineers and other staff from the Corporation were present on the occasion.
The National Flag hoisting function of Independence Day was held at Income Tax Samba, Vijaypur. On the occasion, the National Flag was unfurled by BK Raina, ITO Samba alongwith staff members. Virender Biloria Excise Tax Officer, Ajay Gupta, Kavita Sharma, Uday Pal Singh, Sumita Gupta Advocate, Gourav Sharma and Inder Singh, President Rajput Sabha, Tejinder Singh and Sanjay Gupta from Beopar Mandal Samba and other reputed persons of Vijaypur and Samba were also present on the occasion. Gifts were distributed to the students of Government School Mananu and Swankha.
PTTI Vijaypur hoisted National Flag at PTTI parade ground. Ashok Kumar, SSP, Principal PTTI Vijaypur was the chief guest on the occasion. Flag hoisting ceremony was followed by March Past, cultural programme, mass PT and sports activities. Large number of Government schools children of local schools participated in the cultural programme. Among others VK Singh, SP, Vice Principal PTTI Vijaypur, RS Jamwal DySP R&D, Mukesh Kumar DySP Admn, Karanjit Singh DySP Outdoor, Rakesh Sambyal Sr PO DySP Indoor, PP Singh Sr PO, Hemanshu Mahajan Prosecuting Officer and many others were also present on the occasion.
Power Grid Northern Region Transmission System-II celebrated 71st Independence Day with patriotism and enthusiasm. Flag hoisting, cultural and sports programmes were organized at all its establishments across the region. At its Regional Headquarters, Grid Bhawan, Jammu, HK Mallick, Executive Director, NRTS-II was the chief guest, who unfurled the National Flag in presence of Amarjit, General Manager, (Consultancy), senior officials, employees, their families and children. Various cultural programmes were presented by members of Shristi Mahila Samiti and PEWA in which national fervor and patriotism was showcased. The reports of celebrating the Independence Day at all site offices in the Region comprising states J&K, HP, Punjab, Haryana and UT Chandigarh also poured in.
71st Independence Day was celebrated by Dulhasti Power Station at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dulhasti, Kishtwar, wherein a large number of employees, CISF personnel, their family members and school children participated. PK Langer, General Manager, Dulhasti Power Station was the chief guest who unfurled the National Tricolor. On the occasion, CISF personnel performed drill and other combative exercises. Students of KV presented many patriotic songs and dance programme.
Aaykar Parivar Udhampur celebrated Independence Day at Income Tax Office, Udhampur where the National Flag was unfurled by Income Tax Officer, Madan Lal Dogra. The welcome address was given by Anjesh Sharma, Inspector. It was followed by National Anthem. The function was attended by Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Secretary Income Tax Bar Association along with its members, Ravi Malguria, President Chamber of Commerce, Surinder Khalsa, President Beopar Mandal and other prominent citizens. A number of patriotic songs were played on the music system. Small kids and children added grace to the occasion. The vote of thanks was presented by ML Dogra, Income Tax Officer, Udhampur.
Independence Day was celebrated with fervor and gaiety in Sub Division Headquarters Akhnoor at GHSS Boys Akhnoor, in which SDM Akhnoor, Sunaina Mehta hoisted National Flag. While speaking on the occasion, she remembered the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. She urged the students to work hard to make India a super power. She emphasized to take benefit of centrally sponsored schemes and urged the shopkeepers and businessmen to register their firms under GST. She also highlighted the benefits of digital transactions. She appealed for gender equality and giving due importance to girl child as girls are special gifts of God. Students presented colourful cultural programme, communicating many social messages like cleanliness, GST, Nationalism, etc. Tehsildar Akhnoor, SDPO Akhnoor, SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pushpinder Singh and all the sectoral officers were present in the programme which was witnessed by large number of people from all walks of life.
Independence Day was celebrated by Department of Agriculture, Talab Tillo, wherein Hari Krishan Razdan unfurled the National Flag in presence of a large number of officers and employees of the Department. 71st Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal and fervor at Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited Office Complex, Jammu. Vice Chairman JAKFED Munish Sharma hoisted the tricolor flag and took the salute along with officers and officials of JAKFED and people of the surrounding areas which was followed by singing of the national anthem and cultural programme organized by the JAKFED employees.
Independence Day was celebrated in District Jail Jammu. National Flag was hoisted by Superintendent Jail. Cultural programme by jail inmates was the highlights of the day. The programme was witnessed by CRPF officers, jail officers and officials.
Government Railway Police (GRP) Katra celebrated 71st Independence Day at GRP Lines Katra. Ranjit Singh Sambyal hoisted the National Flag, which was followed by National Anthem. A cultural programme was presented by the GRP personnel. SDPO Railways Katra, SDPO Railways Udhampur, all SHOs of GRP Katra, Incharge Police Posts and other officers of GRP Katra attended the function.
On the eve of Independence Day, National Flag was hoisted by Ibrahim, Incharge Superintendent, Sub-Jail Hiranagar. On the occasion, jail and CRPF officers and officials were present. Cultural programme was organized among the jail inmates and importance of the day was also highlighted.
71st Independence Day was celebrated at PTS Kathua. Ranjit Kanwar, SSP, Principal, SPS PTS Kathua presided over the function and hoisted the National Flag in presence of officers of PTS Kathua, teachers and students of Government Middle School, Shaheedhi Chowk, Kathua, citizens, family members of PTS staff and retd police officers. During the function, the contingents of trainers of 25th BRTC presented March Past, followed by Mass PT, commando demo, sports activities and cultural programme. Trophies and medals were presented by Ranjit Kanwar to the trainers, children and others for their best performance in parade, sports and cultural programme. In the end, Gurmeet Singh, DySP (Admn), PTS Kathua presented vote of thanks.
71st Independence Day was celebrated at Bhallesa and Thathri with patriotic fervour. Tehsildar Gandoh Bhalesa Aman Kumar Anand unfurled the tricolor and took salute of the march past by the contingents of JKP, 4 RR of Indian Army, SSB, NCC and school children. The main attractions of the programme was Bhaderwahi songs and dance, Kashmiri song and dance, Gojri Mushaira, Qawalli and other items presented by the school children. Zahoor Ahmed Sheikh and Harnam Singh Manhas from Govt HSS Chilly, Shafiqa Banoo, Senior Lecturer Persian, Dr Mansoor, Choudhary Mir Qasim, Jabar Zargar, Altaf Naik, Jaswant Singh Manhas, Shah Din Naik, Harbans Lal and Mohammad Abass Khan were present on the Independence Day celebrations at Gandoh and GHSS Chilly.
