Govt initiating proactive measures to make education job-intensive: Priya

JAMMU, Apr 19: Terming educational institutions as the pillars of knowledge and enlightenment, the Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture Priya Sethi today urged the students to actively participate towards societal uplift. She said the PDP-BJP Coalition Government is taking various proactive measures to equip the students with requisite knowledge and job-intensive skills.
Speaking during the valedictory function of the workshop at Government College for Education, Priya Sethi said; “students are the pillars to mould the society and onus lies on them to carry forward the mission which could bring about the betterment of the society”.
Urging students to make optimum use of their precious time in pursuing extracurricular activities and sports alongside academics, Priya said the times have changed and the youngsters have to mould themselves as per changing times.   She termed youth as future of the state, and said they have enormous responsibilities towards societal development and national building.
Appreciating the dedication and endurance of the faculty in shaping the destiny of young generation, Priya hoped that the pass outs would find themselves in good stead to contribute towards the harmonious society.
Regarding new initiatives for revival of education system, she said Government is working on a well knit strategy to introduce more innovative measures to improve and refurbish the education set up in the State, keeping in mind the latest trends to keep pace with the contemporary world.
“Government is taking proactive steps to ensure that students receive the required knowledge and skills,” she added.
Later, the Minister released a magazine of the college besides distributing certificates among the participants.
