JAMMU, Apr 10: Jammu and Kashmir Government has dumped Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA) and common people are suffering a lot in the absence of implementation of this vital act in letter and spirit.
This was stated by Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, senior leader of National Conference (NC) and former Minister while addressing a public meeting at Kukerian in Marh Assembly Constituency.
Sadhotra said this pro people Act was enacted during the then Government headed by Omar Abdullah to bring transparency, put check on corruption and mitigate the problems of common man in a stipulated time, however, it is unfortunate that present Government has dumped PSGA and the miseries of common people have increased many folds due to whimsical delay by the officers/officials dealing with day to day problems of the people.
“Dumping of PSGA has also given filip to corruption and common people are disappointed that has led to disconnect between people and the Government,” the NC leader said, adding, people have been suffering due to inordinate delay in getting their day to day works solved.
Sadhotra demanded appointment of highest level body for monitoring and implementation of PSGA without wasting any time in order to mitigate the problems of common man by implementing PSGA in letter and spirit. He said that proper implementation of PSGA will give sense of belonging to the common people and put check on corruption.
Meanwhile, several youth joined National Conference and they were welcomed into the party fold by Sadhotra.
