JAMMU, May 2: Minister for CAPD and Tribal Affairs, Ch. Zulfkar Ali today held a video-conference with all District Development Commissioners to review the progress on the initiatives and pro-active policies taken for timely implementation of various programmes.
Secretary CAPD, Satish Nehru, Director CAPD, Jammu, G. S. Chib, Additional Secretary CAPD, Ramesh Chander, Director Finance, CAPD and Deputy Director CAPD, A. K. Kotwal also attended the video conference.
On the occasion, the Minister took stock of process of constitution of district, tehsil and block level committees. The committees are being constituted to ascertain the exact number of additional families under AAY, BPL and APL categories as per Census-2011. The Minister also took stock of supply position at each district.
In the Kashmir valley districts, including Leh and Kargil districts, the Minister sought the status of constitution of the committees for social benefit survey. He asked the Deputy Commissioner of each district to submit report up to May 16. He told them that Government was fully prepared for supply of ration to people as per 2011 census from next month. He directed the concerned DCs and Assistant Director CAPD to submit updated lists of BPL, AAY, APL and BPL and other beneficiaries.
While taking stock position from Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri and Poonch districts the concerned DCs and Assistant Directors of CAPD informed the Minister about the shortfall of food grains in their respective districts. He directed the concerned officers to arrange timely supply for the hilly districts and also arrange private vehicles to carry the rations in case SRTC could not provide sufficient number of vehicles. For this purpose, he directed for constitution of a committee at the earliest.
The Minister directed the officers to work in coordination and remain committed to serve the society in a transparent manner. He further directed them that while formulating the plans, the basic requirements of the people should be kept in mind.
The Minister asked Director CAPD to ensure that ration reach before 10th of every month to all districts in order to maintain proper and regular supply and fair distribution.
