JAMMU, Jan 23: The Government today ordered constitution of a State Level Steering Committee for conducting of 6th Minor Irrigation Census 2017-18 and Census of water bodies for the year 2017-18.
The committee, headed by Financial Commissioner (Revenue) J&K, as its Chairman, shall make elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of two Censuses, monitor and guide entire Census exercise in the State and review the progress of Census work on monthly basis.
The committee shall be comprising Director General, Economics & Statistics, J&K; Deputy Director General, State Head NSSO, Government of India; Director RDD, Jammu/Kashmir; Director Agriculture Production Department, Jammu/Kashmir; Director Command Area, Jammu Kashmir; Director Central Water Commission, J&K, Chief Engineer, Irrigation & Flood Control, J&K, Superintending Engineer, PWD (R&B), Leh/Kargil and representative of Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources, GoI, as the Members and Director (Statistics) with Financial Commissioner (Revenue), J&K as the Member Secretary.
