Govt forms panel for implementing HC order on Pahalgam

JAMMU, Nov 13: For implementing the orders of High Court, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has constituted a committee to take steps for retrieval of public property from illegal and unauthorized occupants at Pahalgam besides examining proposals for renewal of lease.
The committee, headed by Principal Secretary, Revenue Department, shall examine site plan, disposal of public property through auctions and loss caused to the public exchequer by continuous occupation of the Government land by the erstwhile lessees/licensees.
The committee shall also propose amendments in laws/rules etc required for implementation of directions of the court.
Members of the committee, include Divisional Commissioner Jammu/Kashmir, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Administrative Secretary, Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs; VC, Srinagar Development Authority; VC, Jammu Development Authority; Commissioner SMC, Commissioner JMC, CEO Tourism Development Authority Pahalgam/Gulmarg/Patnitop/Sonamarg, representative of Housing & Urban development Department and representative of Forest, Ecology and Environment.
